Call me clueless if this subject has been discussed before, but has anyone noticed bits of the episodes being cut out, for whatever reason? I've just finished watching the two-episodes-an-evening shown on Fox68 out of Syracuse, NY, and noticed that some bits have been excised. I can't recall this having been done before, is why I'm asking...

all eps shown today...are cut approx. 2mins for every show were cut up for syndication in order to put more commericals in...so that the station can make money back from the massive amount they paid for the show...

I understand WHY shows are cut....I'm just curious about the TIMING of this cutting. Like everyone on this NG, I've been watching Seinfelf for years in syndication, and have a pretty good memory of the high points in any show. It seems to me that a few minutes have been getting snipped off, just recently. For example, yesterday's episode "The Cartoon", the part where Jerry is in the coffee shop with comedienne Sally Weaver, trying to apologize (...I stink, you stink, we all stink!!...), was cut right out. The previous showing of the episode, (...sometime in last few months...) the episode was intact. Frankly, it drives me nuts to see this...I feel like the episode is tainted and unwatchable. As far as I'm concerned, it's like watching The Bugs Bunny / Road Runner Hour with my niece and nephews, and noticing all the violent (ie. funny) parts cut out. Pretty obsessive behavior, eh?

I can't say i ever noticed that they changed what was cut from time to time..
i guess i never caught the same ep on the same station twice.
I've been capping syndication eps and therefore never watch em on tv if i've got them...
When you say it changed....was it the same TV Station? as well as the same time slot?

TBS cuts more than the syndicated version that runs on your local broadcast station. So there are three versions of each episode, in order from best to worst: NBC, broadcast syndication, TBS.
I have to agree, especially with the order described below. I have many tapes full of episode, but not all of them. I am very reluctant to tape anymore because of the ridiculous, money-hungry cuts that are made to these episodes.
