Fans praise the running gag of George making "the voice" for capturing the appeal of inexplicable inside jokes between friends that outsiders won't understand.
I loved the running gag of the "voice". It reminds me of all the stupid little catch phrases and in-jokes between my friends and me, all of which would be incomprehensible to anyone else.
To anyone who "didn't get it": that's sort of the point. It's an odd, inexplicable little thing that for some reason caught on with Jerry and his friends.
Yep! Absolutely hysterical IMHO.....That's the genius of these writers.....They pick up on the most inconsequential things in life and turn them into fantastic jokes on TV shows......
For reasons like this, I think Seinfeld is easily the best show in the history of television......

ditto... its like every tired, "played" inside joke I've ever known! very funny of the writers to pick up on it!
I missed the first 10 minutes of the 10/2 episode, why were they making that voice? did it have something to do with his girlfriend stomach?

Maybe it was, but it was still funny. And I swore to myself (before I saw the episode, but after seeing the previews) that I WOULD NOT go around the next day repeating that crap...but you know what? I did. And it's funny. Lighten up!
