I finally gave in to peer pressure (somewhat unwisely) and went to see 'Titanic'. It was a good movie if you took out the scenes with young Rose, old Rose, and Jack in them.
But bashing 'Titanic' is not the reason why I'm writing this (if I wanna get flamed, I'll type the words 'Seinfield', 'Pedermen', or 'Cramer' frequently).
I'm writing this because early in the movie (I'm not including spoilers 'cause you guys have either all seen the movie, or don't give a crap one way or the other) Rose's fiance Cal Hockling (I think that's his name), played by Billy Zane, pops up on the screen.
Within five minutes, due to Cal's inflections, mode of speech, pronunciation, etc., I am convinced he is either doing his best J. Peterman impression, or James Cameron ran out of money by the time they wanted to hire the 'real' J. Peterman, and had to get someone just like him.
Anyone else compare characters in this movie (or others) to more memorable 'Seinfeld' characters, or am I the only weird one (I am anyway, since all of my friends _adored_ 'Titanic') here?
