George is so gross

I'm not a Seinfeld regular but I went into shock when i saw George in bed with someone. He is so nasty and repulsive. If this were real life there is no way the women like those on the show would sleep or even be seen with him. This show is not realistic at all. Does anyone else agree?

The fact that one finds George "nasty and repulsive" is proof of his fine acting ability. He has developed the character fully and it shows. On the other issue, some short, stocky, balding men can be very attractive, especially if they are kind, intelligent, and have a sense of humor.

Actually I felt that the way Jason Alexander behaved at the Emmies was a little like his character in Seinfeld, or was he playing George at the Emmys ? (talking about the bit where he went into the audience, etc)

The character of George is truly annoying, not because he is short or bald or stocky, but because of the way he behaves. Especially when he acts Knowing: he uses an obnoxious manner that sets him up very well before he falls flat on his face.

Perhaps it is because of his acting ability that the character is nasty and repulsive, but i think it also has a lot to do with the fact that George is an exaggeration of annoying traits so as to be funny, which he is. He's a schlemiel, but a little sweet because of the schlemielness. I think Jason Alexander has great comic talent, but if George is meant to be a realistic character, than yuck.

Sorry pal, no can do. If any of us could avoid analyzing Seinfeld, we probably wouldn't like it. We'd probably be watching Pauly Shore movies on video.
