Len Lesser/Uncle Leo : Sesame Street?

Len Lesser (Uncle Leo) reminds me a lot of the guy in Sesame Street who used to go around painting numerals everywhere. Was that Len Lesser?

Funny you should mention that... I've always believed the Sesame Street painter guy was PAUL BENEDICT (who played Harry Bentley on The Jeffersons).

And to complete the significance, Benedict even had a Seinfeld appearance in "The Cartoon" as Mr. Elinoff of "The New Yorker" (who didn't understand the cartoon either).

But it's tough now, 20 some-odd years later, to get a clear picture of his face. My overall impression is that you're correct.

i remember a rare bit of dialogue ("I think I'll paint a number 9!") that sounded the same as Mr. Bentley's voice. (IIRC, that was where he pinted the 9 on a bald guy who was relaxing in his pool. He was reading a newspaper with the headline, "Painter still at large".)
