Seinfeld last episode

I'm a fairly new convert to Seinfled, and saw the last episode for the first time last night. What a let down! It wasn't remotely funny, and was actually quite brutal. Anybody else agree?

Many of those earlier shows. IIRC, Jerry himself said that it was only after season two that they really hit their stride with the episodes that were all intertwined with one another.

The ones where the subplots are all intertwined in some way are the ones I enjoy the most.

There are so many favorites, but one of my favorites is the "Heart Attack," with Tor Eckman the herbal healer. "You are not a doctor but you play one in real life."

you have to remember this is not friends or family ties this is seinfled not your ordinary sitcom and the finale was not your ordinary clip show. jerry was not only ending the show he was ending a time in his life, which had come full circle. that is why the button conversation came up (again). to me the clip were clips of jerry's favorite moments. remember david and jerry NEVER cared what you pompus viewers think they did what they wanted. to me seeing someof the greatest moments in television history before the four are sent to jail is one of the greatest moments in television history better than cosby ending and j.fox leaving for new york or rachel not leaving for france or did she (i don't know becasue i was watching seinfeld!) just try to remember this is not your ordinary sitcom this is seinfeld THE GREAT LOL "KarenCannoli" wrote in message news:[email]...

I agree. Originally, Jerry wanted to have all of the four characters die in the final episode, but NBC wouldn't do it. I suppose they wanted to keep the door open for possible spin-offs. Looking back, I'll bet it would have been a better finale.

Interesting, I had never heard that Jerry wanted to have all the characters die. However, due to the surreal, illogical nature of the last episode, I have always felt (just my opinion) that the ending was kind of a Twilight Zone story....they actually did die in a plane crash, and the story occurs as their lives flash before there eyes.

Money is VERY powerful (perhaps not as powerful as Elaine's possible reluctance to show how she had aged). Needless to say, the show would blow anyway. Such attempts never succeed.

Good chance. His standup act still sucks. Bet Elaine will still look great. That "Yes, Dear" show didn't do her much credit on an intellectual level, though.

Can anyone explain the comments Jerry makes about the shirt button. I know that it was mentioned on the first, or at least early episode, then he says it again in the last episdoe. It's even mentioned in the DVD comments. But I'm not really sure what Jerry is saying about the button.

He's saying that the location of the second button down on a shirt is what makes the shirt look good or not, and the button on George's shirt is too high and makes him look like his mother dressed him. It's sort of a pointless conversation that sets the tone for the show about "nothing." It was the very first conversation George and Jerry had in the pilot episode, and the series finale ended with the same conversation as a way to bring things around full circle.
