Fans loved this episode for its natural humor and character believability, comparing it favorably to earlier seasons and praising Jerry's reluctance to inconvenience others and Puddy's role.
Hey, I loved the episode tonight! :) It was so much more natural, less forced, really funny, and more believable. I missed the first few minutes (bummer!). But I loved what I saw. Jerry in a fur coat and with a purse! :) That is like him also, never wanting to put people out or say no. Kramer was much more believable also. I wish Ihad taped it, I'd watch it again right now! :)

I agree! I think this was one of the best shows of the season! Kind of like the "old episodes".....

Yeah, that really reminded me of the old episodes. Maybe not as good as some of the older ones but still very good nonetheless.
I to thought this episode was the best aired in a long time. Very good writing. Reminded me of some of the old shows.

I also thought it was a great episode, although the George wallet plot line was not very funny -- and was also so out-of-character as to be distracting...Or maybe that was the joke (plot lines that come out of nowhere, a common theme on Seinfeld) but I just didn't find it very amusing. The rest of the show gets 2 big thumbs up, though!!

In my hopefully humble opinion, I thought tonight's episode was an illustration of the best definition of average one can find outside a dictionary (not really a slam, mind you, just a rating).
There were as many laughs as there were non-laughs; I cannot scale its grade any higher. What I thought worked most against it in terms of receiving its C rating was the acting: I don't think there was much zest, zeal to it; it was kind of bland. And there were a couple of missed opportunities (an expansion of the Elaine seducing Newman concept would have been hilarious).
But there were definitely some funny moments. George on the massaging chair: great slapstick. Puddy walking in with a fur coat along with his trademark arrogant nonchalance: priceless. And the butguster (even though we cold see it coming ten light years away): the violent explosion of George's bloated mutant wallet (you know, another thing about that scene: I don't know why, but I think the whole concept of George being even remotely interested in guitar lessons is pretty humorous).
Still though, I think this is one of those episodes which is rather unremarkable when all is said and done. It will be lost in the land of syndication, specifically, in the province where all the episodes that cause us to turn the UHF dial to another piece of syndicated fare reside. Surprised the first two in this thread liked it (not that there's anythng wrong with that!).
I laughed aloud several times during tonight's episode. The hardest laugh came when Puddy, doing his job at the party, barked "No coasters on the table!" His delivery was priceless.
