It was a rerun of the episode where Jerry's new girlfriend tries to get him to express his anger, and Kramer builds a porch in front of his apartment.

It was the season opener and funnier the second time around. Unfortunately, the syndicated rerun where Elaine has a big head and George competes for an apartment, not to mention Kramer taking doggie medicine, was better. The 12/25 ep. on NBC was NOT the season opener. This was the Antytown U.S.A/Serenity Now ep. The season opener was re ran on Thanksgiving which was The Buttershave.
