The first half of last night's new episode setting up the plot lines was generally unfunny and muddy. I didn't know where they were going with any of the stories.
THEN, Kramer "tucked" his Japanese friends into that oversized set of chester drawers and I just lost it! From that point forward things came together and I got a good laugh out of most everything.
Did you notice the similarity between Jerry being mistaken as poor and the same thing happening to George back in The Gymnast (George's girlfriend's mother sees him eating trash, washing windows, etc.)?
And I don't know where that music was coming from in the end but the glazed look on the doctor's face was wonderful.
A definite thumbs up episode.
I think the problem in fairly evaluating this season's and last's episodes is that they have to compete with the daily syndicated shows which I already know and love. I finally figured this out when I found myself enjoying season 7 (The Engagement, The Postponement) more in syndication than I did watching them first-run last year. So I'll stop being so analytical and worrisome about this season being up to snuff. I'm just going to kick back, relax and enjoy whatever Jerry and company send me way while it lasts.
