The whole point of the special was that he's telling us his old jokes (which made him famous) for the last time. He will never (so he says) use that material ever again. From now on Jerry will only use new material.

Personally, I didn't find myself laugh too much in the first 15 minutes, but from there on out I could barely breathe I was laughing so hard. I can still picture his face when he pretends to eat cereal with milk one day past it's expiration date :-)

I am curious why he bothered to go through these hard months of standup just to finish off his old act. Why not just announce that he was ending it. Also, one of the main reasons I had gleaned he was quitting his popular tv show was due to fatigue. It would seem that the past few month of performing standup all over the globe would not seem very restful. "What's the deal"? (to borrow a popular expression). alt showbiz gossip
