My take on 4/10 episode

Who wrote this crap. It had way to many ideas that in the end just became tangled and messy. It sounded like maybe three or four writers put there scripts together. When Elaine had that matress fall on her I thought I was watching a FOX sitcom. A really bad one too. And when they were at lunch and had that brainless conversation about "The Omen". WHAT?? This show ranks as one of the worst. And I could be a clone and blame it all on the absence of Larry David. But the fact is Larry himself stated he was "burnt out" on the show. So even if he had come back it wouldn't of made the show any better. It's getting bad here in Seinfeld land. Thank god for syndication. As of now I'd rather be watching at 10 o'clock, than eight. Out.

Yeah I agree. Why did Larry David leave though? There must have been more to it than just being "burnt out." Or was it one of those "I'll quit while I'm ahead" deals?

To all those who insist that Seinfeld has become a worse show because plots are getting "too" farfetched or unrealistic:

There is at least another one of us out here who thinks the show is *funnier* when it gets incredibly wacked out. Yes, even people who have watched Seinfeld since the beginning. Would a neon light coming through a window really look like a laser coming through a peephole? Has there ever been a dog that coughs like a human? Can a kitchen be set up in one day by a single worker? Would some old men, father, son, and grandfather, really think they could outmuscle someone half or 1/3 their age? No, no, no, no. But, IMHO and many others', moments like these are funnier than most Seinfeld episodes, regardless of season.

Just my 2 cents: Yes, a cabinetry can be set up in one day... By a singel worker...

If you don't like it, don't watch it. Nobody's holding a gun to your head. But don't ruin it for everybody else. I loved the episode, along with all the others. Maybe you're the one with the problem and the show's doing just fine. Complain all you want, but not on our watch.

If I enjoyed a show, why would it "ruin it for me" that someone else didn't like it?

Frankly, the opinions about each episode, good or bad, are the main reason I read this NG. If we didn't talk about that, what would we be talking about? Favorite quotes over and over?

Sorry. That's just the way I feel...also the fact that I have met the cast and actually know Jason Alexander very well add to it. They're just so wonderful that I get annoyed with people who don't like the show or even some of its subplots, even though they're entitled to their opinion. I personally couldn't pick a show or subplot that I didn't like if my life depended on it, and I've seen all but a couple episodes. At any rate, sorry if I irritated or offended anyone.

I thought the episode was pretty funny! Costanza sleeping under his desk--that's priceless stuff! The way Jerry's kitchen turned out because he wouldn't communicate with the worker--hilarious! Elaine getting offended at her date's gift of a matress and then he explained it was merely a thoughtful gesture--humorous!

Well tell your friends we like them and the roles they have created but this year the writing and plots have been below the high quality of past years. Not only have some plots been silly but they have put the characters in situations that were not consistent with their developed personalities. etc..

Tell them for me that they're doing just fine and that the writing is better than ever in many of the episodes this season, and definitely better this season than any of the early seasons. Then you can tell them that silly plots are the the funniest and to come up with even zanier and sillier plots and to keep doing a great job. Then, tell them that the show is not the same without Larry David, but that it's not necessarily worse. I'm glad that I got a chance to see Seinfelds without Larry David's involvement, as the show has become even better many times without him. Finally, you can tell them that there are many fans that feel this way, not just the ones that started watching a couple years ago. Signed, a fan from the beginning who thinks the show is much better now.

I gotta go with a huge ME TOO on this one.   Long live Seinfeld!!

Also, have you ever been in a situation where you don't want to be discovered, and there you are, trapped and listening. As time elapses, it becomes more and more embarrassing to be discovered. Like, if George appeared right away like he had just dropped a paper clip or something, it wouldn't be so embarrassing had he been discovered later. The Hermit

I agree with Michael Alexander...when I watch the show, then see the funny parts through another's eyes, when I see it again, it is even more enjoyable. It's like someone pointing out more sharply what I had seen and enjoyed, and I laugh all the harder. I guess that's the reason I like to see a good movie comedy in the theater...it's fun to LAUGH with someone else. But, like that guy in Andrea Dora pointing out to Elaine that she had a large head...by the end of the show, we are almost convinced that she "does" have a "candy apple for a head." But that's funny. When it's a Seinfeld fan, criticizing a show, pointing out some personal distaste, it sometimes ruins that scene for me, as I see it's "big head" sort of speak.

Hey man fuck you, Don't be so critical its only a sitcom. And who stays up at 1:41 in the A.M just so they can post messages. The sitcom had to change or it would have become boring anyway. I have read many messages from this newsgroup all from people like you. People who can't just watch the show, laugh, and get on with their lives. They must take apart every aspect of the show, while quoting lines from "The Larry David Era" .

Hey about Elaine's weight -> She either just had a kid or is about to. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss has been pregnant all season so give her a break ok?

Related? I wish. Actually, Alexander isn't Jay's real last name. But we are very close. He's just an old friend of the family...I met the others through him but I don't know them quite as well. They're wonderful, talented, special people, and I'm very lucky to know them. :)
