Tonight's showing of "The Jacket" reminded me of something. Despite seemingly being "Even Steven," Jerry often seems to waste his money. Another example is in "The Watch"/"The Wallet" when Morty throws out a wallet filled with $200 of Jerry's money, and Uncle Leo rips off Jerry when he buys back his watch. I also remember Todd Gak selling Jerry fake Cuban cigars. Can anyone else think of some examples, because I feel like this happens a lot?

Besides the Cadillac part of it, he can afford to go back and forth to Florida like nothing.
He just gives Elaine 20 bucks just because she says so. (Elaine throws it out the window)
He dumps his BMW cause it smells, for the bummy dude to just take.
(implied) he got suckered by George in "the bet". George admitted he cheated.
Everyone is always snacking at Jerry's, especially you know who.
Who in the heck would waste money to buy an umbrella on the street when they're already outside in the middle of the pourring rain downtown?????
How can he afford all those alarm clocks to wakeup his new marathon buddy ?
He throws away his belt just becuase the buckle banged-up against the stall at a public restroom....I would too :o)

Jerry has quite a stash of money though and is generous when he needs to be. Even though the jacket was very expensive (we assume) he really wanted it as it fitted so well. Personally I thought it was horrible. He's not George. I think he just sees losing/spending the odd couple of hundred dollars here and there as one of those things or worth it if he gets something that makes him happy - eg jacket, cadillac for dad, presents for friends ($182) etc.
That's true, Jerry can afford to spend a lot of money, especially towards the end of the series when his comedy career is doing a lot better (Kramer: I didn't know you were making this kind of money!). However, there seems to be a lot of instances where Jerry WASTES his money (like the ruined jacket), as opposed to just spending it (hid Dad's Caddy...before it ends up in a lake).

In some episode Jerry pays the repair for some car that he didnt smash.
He follows a car that he sees bumping in to another car on the curb and ends up dating the female driver but is discusted with her behaviour (that she didnt stop and leave a note) that, when he finds out who owns the car he pays her $875 for the damages.
