The answer, of course, isn't Dolores, it's Regina, which is pronounced differently by our neighbors in the Great White North.

I believe it's the proper pronouciation since the city was named in honour of Queen Victoria (Regina being latin for queen) and that's how it's pronouced in England.

I don't think its that much of an assumption to believe Delores is the right name-Jerry said throughout the episode that if he heard it, he would know, and that he knew that names like Mulva were not it. In fact, in conversation when George suggested Mulva, Jerry said that was not it. He only tried it on her as a last ditch effort. In the end, however, he did not say in a hesitant voice "Delores?", but rather emphatically said "I've got it! I remember your name-Delores!" or something like that. It is clear that he remembered the correct name at the end.
Plus, unless one lives in Canada, no one pronounces "Regina" as "Ragina", but rather as "Regeena". I don't think the female body part is "Vageena", which is the American rhyme of "Regina"

There are thousands of home pages from women named "Delores." Are you saying all their names are spelled wrong? There are few standard names in America-I know a girl named Shaikesha. So Delores is just as correct as Dolores unless you see her name actually spelled.

You are correct that the proper pronunciation does not rhyme. But it is commonly mispronounced such that it does rhyme. Not that the word comes up in conversation very often, but I have heard more than one person mispronounce it that way.

Now, look, you dolts... She was listed in the credits as Mystery Woman, but that was before Jerry stated (not questiones) that her name is Deloris, which rhymes with Clitoris.
Her name is not Regina, which, in the USA, and New York in particular, is pronounced as Re-Gee-Nah, not Re-Gy-na.
Now, lets let this question go, as it is not important to anyones life.

You are right - Delores only rhymes with Clitoris if you pronounce it the way 5th grade boys pronounce it. That proves it is the correct name, however, because the whole rhyming thing came when Jerry asked her what names they called her in elementary school(i.e. 5TH GRADE). Thus, they called her Clitoris with the 5th grade pronounciation that rhymed with Delores.
As to regina, I think you are completely wrong. In America, it is pronounced "Regeena". So is the body part the "Vageena"?
Plus, why would you just believe it is Regina-you have absolutely no reason to believe that it is so, besides the warped way that you make it rhyme. At least you have many indications that Delores is right-it rhymes(without warping the pronounciation of "Delores", and Jerry actually screams it out of the window in triumph.

P.S. as to the spelling of Delores verses Dolores, I know a 'Delores', so I think its right. Plus, dictionaries do not usually contain names. My name, Ted, a common name, is not in my dictionary as a name, but rather says "to spread out for drying, as newly mown hay." So I don't think the dictionary spelling of a name is that accurate.

Is that right?? What dictionary did you find that in? I didn't realize dictionaries contained names. (My name isn't in there, so I can't imagine that this name is in there). By the way, my aunt spells her name "DELORES" so I'll have to call her and tell her she's been spelling it wrong for the last 70 years.

This dictionary only gives one pronunciation for clitoris -- the one that does NOT rhyme with Dolores. (It does offer the option of putting the accent on the second syllable when using it as an adjective, but not as a noun.) I remember the pronunciation that rhymes with Dolores being used when I was growing up in New York State, so maybe that's a regional pronunciation, and Seinfeld does take place in New York. (Maybe Jennifer is right -- maybe you have to be from NY to get it!)
