the clip show (original airing)

anyone notice that during the musical montage of the clip show, theres one small view of the 4 of them dancing through what looks like the hallway of a hospital. anyone notice this?

It looked to me like it was them dancing in the prison that they were in in the Finale, so I was expecting them to do that when I actually saw the Finale! Guess it was cut?

I figured that they filmed that scene specifically for the clip show. It wouldn't have any place in "The End" but it was kind of cute to see them all dancing there. But yes, it was filmed in that same prison hallway.

btw, what song was it they played in the background of that scene?

would it be asking TOO much of someone who is visiting this newsgroup for the first time to scroll through some of the recent postings so they don't repeat a questions that has been asked and answered six hundred thousand times in the last three months?

Actually, there WAS an alternate ending filmed for the show, along with a lot of other intermediate scenes that apparently were very funny but didn't fit well (in Larry David's view, at least) into the overall flow of the final episode. My guess is, that footage may have been part of the alternate ending (and gives you a clue that in the alternate ending, they got off, and went on their way to Paris and then to Hollywood).

You'd probably find a lot of people who would love to see the finale with its alternate ending and with some of that other footage inserted...maybe even replacing some of the other material that did air. NBC should seriously consider replaying the finale that way on September 10 (when it's supposed to show one last time, closing out the series run on the network for good). That would really bump the audience upward and give the show an extra lift in syndication, if only from creating years of debate over "which ending worked better?" It'd also cement viewers more firmly into the time slot for the fall season and give a little extra boost to Frasier when he premiers on the 17th, although that show probably won't need much help to succeed there...

Hey, Jerry and co. did everything else in a unique way for nine years. Jerry, if you're lurking here (and there are those who believe you do from time to time), how about being different one last time, and giving people two different endings to the whole series, something no other program has ever done? You've already made TV history in a lot of creative ways...now here's still another chance for you to do it again, with just a phone call...

The dancing down the prison hallway used in the clip show was obviously an outtake of the cast having fun...in no way would it have fit into any alternative ending. Think about it!!
