Instant coffee inconsistency?

George inquires of Jerry in "The Contest", "all you've got is instant coffee?"

Yet, there's no instant coffee when Mr. Bookman comes to visit.

"Freeze dried crystals."

Maybe Jerry took that adwise from Mr. Bookman.

"You buy a jar of Folger's Crystals, you put it in the cupboard, you forget about it. Then later on when you need it, it's there. It lasts forever. It's freeze-dried. Freeze-dried Crystals."

What about the inconsistency in the pilot to later epoisodes where George would only drink decaf coffee, and Jerry drinks regular, but in a later episode (forget for the moment which, it was where Elaine and George were trying to be friends, and they realized they were more friends in law, with Jerry.) Elaine mentioned that Jerry drinks some sort of drink (again forget what that was) and George says that it has caffein in it, Jerry doesn't drink caffein. Elaine then says she knows it has caffein in it, and you should see Jerry after drinking it - because he doesn't know it has the caffein. (BTW, my spellchecker doesn't work, so if caffein is misspelled, you know why.)

I know Postum was mentioned in some episode. Does it not have caffeine? I don't recall. It is a good drink.

She mentions that Jerry drinks some sort of flavoured tea...I want to say cinnamon. And George says something to the effect that "but that has caffeine in it, and Jerry doesnt drink caffeine", to wich Elaine replies "Jerry doesn't know it has caffeine in it". she the continues on about how he gets all energized and doesn't know why...he keeps saying "I feel great!"

Bookman has to be the best non-recurring character ever. You want to know why - I'll tell you why!!! Because he's not worried about wearing his fancy clothes and making the 'scene'.
