That's because the blocks in Manhattan are such that once you find the cross streets, it's pretty easys to find any location.
BTW, a friend of mine visited Manhattan over Christmas and visited the Soup Nazi! She stood in line for 20 minutes in the freezing cold -- she did the ordering sequence (order, money, move left) just right and received the fruit and candy that go with the soup. Her friend didn't move immediately to the left -- he only got soup. Her other friend fumbled with her crumpled money -- Soup Nazi passed her and went to the next person in line!
Who needs writers when stuff like this actually is true!?
