Hey it took me a while to figure out what rhymes with Dolores too. Quite simply Dolores and the "word" just don't rhyme very well. One ends with "-is" and the other with "-es." It's like saying Dolores rhymes with Boris. Mulva, on the other hand...

The fact that it was mocking her first name was, I think, Jerry's assumption. So, perhaps her first name is Lisa, or Janet or Elizabeth and Jerry is on the wrong track.

Jerry repeatedly refers to her as Dolores and she doesn't seem to object
or attempt to correct him?

Maybe the problem here is people's varying definitions of the word "rhyme".

Let's see what Webster has to say... Rhyme: 1. Correspondence of terminal sounds of words or of lines of verse.

Terminal sounds, people. Think about it.

If you still don't believe they rhyme, get yourself into an adult
education class (or if you're still in school, start paying attention in
English class), or purchase some Fun with Phonics tapes.

I read an article in the "People Tribute" that eluded to her name being Mulva...I could be wrong, I just skimmed the page.

I personally thought it was Delores until I read it.
