Sound familiar? ====================
Kwanzaa, which begins today, is one of the youngest
holidays of the festive
season. It was created 34 years ago by professor Maulana
Karenga, chair of the
department of black studies at California State
University. He decided that
Americans of African descent needed a cultural
celebration of their own.
He called the new holiday Kwanzaa, which is Swahili
for ``first fruits'' of the
harvest.
