Underrated episodes?

i still like the parking garage lost car, and of course the Keith Hernandez Spitting/JFK magic bullet episode... i think i actually cried the first time i saw it...

Everyone always talks about "The Contest" and "Soup Nazi" when discussing great Seinfeld episodes. These are great, but there are plenty of episodes that deserve to be put in the "classic" rating.

I would like to nominate "The Suicide." This introduced Newman, Drakes Coffee Cakes, and one of the best endings of all time (Kramer telling George how he missed hanging out with nude swimsuit models).

Your thoughts?

What about "The Opposite"? Man, nobody ever talks about this being the greatest, but I think it's even better than Soup Nazi. I also think "The Old Man" is very underrated.

My two favorites are the ones where George does everything opposite and the overdue library book. Mr Bookman is the funniest character that show has ever produced (well one episode characters anyway)

Other than the aforementioned "The Contest" and "The Soup Nazi" I'd nominate "The Outing" with that reporter who thinks Jerry and George are gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Then there's "The Massage" where George thinks "it moved."

Theh only thing though is that "The Outing" is not underrated. Most people regard this episode as one of its finest and the critics gave it rave reviews.

IMO, "Soup Nazi" is WAY over-rated. Very funny, but not in the league of "The Contest", "The Outing", "The Opposite", and a number of others.

The Chinese Restaurant and Parking Garage are similar in that it's primarily restricted to one location and as such there were not a lot of scene changes or needs for fast edits. That "slows it down" for some people who are unconsiously used to the breezy, break-neck pace of Seinfeld's editing and script.

The Cafe (yesterday's show)

This scene really cracks me up:

After Elaine scores a measley 85 on the IQ test she writes for George, so George can impress his girlfriend, George says: "You should have seen the look on her face. It was the same look my father gave me when I told him I wanted to be a ventriloquist."

Elaine: "I couldn't concentrate! The Cafe, Kramer..." Jerry: "It was a maaadhouse!"

I liked the episode when George meets those "bastards from Houston."

The most underrated episode ever was where Jerry competes with that other guy in the race......remember the epsiode? its when they had a race in high school and the other guy thought jerry cheated.

I quite like "THE JIMMY". Especially the part where Elaine meets Jimmy at the benefit and says - "Elaine got a new dress". Also when Mel Torme is singing to Kramer.

This entire season.

I've always thought "The Pie" was an ep I could watch over and over again and never get tired of. The way they brought together all the stories in that one takes a great deal of skill and planning.

I'll throw out 'The Roomate Switch' episdoe. I love the 'menage a trois' scheme George cooks up in this one. Also this is the one where Kramer's first name gets revealed. All around solid show.

Let's face it. Seinfeld will go down as one of the greatest comedies of all time because it has SO many great shows. The sad thing is that I can count VERY few episodes THIS season that can even compare to episodes mentioned in this thread. The only ones I can think of that come close are "The Little Kicks" and "The Fatigues".

I love the episode when George goes over to Joe Temple's house to watch "Breakfast at Tiffany's" instead of reading it for a book club. When the wife gets home and George keeps telling her to be quiet... now that's classic George!

I don't know as The Subway was so much underrated, but when watching some episodes I taped, they had more good lines on that show than any others of that recent run of syndicated episodes: George: "I always get the feeling when lesbians are looking at me they"re thinking, 'THAT's why I'm not a heterosexual!'" Woman on Subway talking about Elaine:"My LUCK. I don't talk to a soul on the subway for 30 years...and, I talk with the best man at a lesbian wedding!!" Elaine: "NO! NO! You don't understand!! I'm not a lesbian!! I Hate men...but I'm not a lesbian!!" (There are more which I'll mention later...from The Subway the Hermit, Mary Jo

more from The Subway: Jerry to nude man across from him, "You realize, of course, you're naked. Nude man: "Dressed...naked...I don't see any difference." Jerry: "You ought to sit here!!
