I've been waiting since Seinfeld went off the air for "the next Seinfeld" And I think I may have to wait a much longer time considering the amazing calabre of the show and Hollywood's new found love of reality shows.

Can't agree. In de good 'ol days, the 3 guys in Friends sometimes were hilarious, the chicks all suck indeed. And I'm pretty sure they're better actors than Jerry, he can't act at all, but that's one of the things that make Seinfeld so damn funny.
a friend today recommended i watch the WB's Gross point on Friday nights for seinfeld style laughs. He said it was hilarious, but i want to see it for myself. anyone else seen it? this friend's usually pretty solid on comedy.

i don't think anything's like seinfeld- there's a point in all other shows when it gets serious or there's a moral point or some drama or whatever. that's what i like so much about seinfeld- "its only point is to make you laugh." i think it was alexander that said that, or maybe jerry.
the only thing that comes close is south park i think. they usually end with an "i've learned something today...." line, but it's still usually capped with some nonsensical thing. and south park is better at "sparing no one." they'll slam just about every group or type of person. the wit on that show is right up there with seinfeld (it's a different kind of wit).

No way, Southpark doesn't even come close to Seinfeld. The only show that's funny enough to compete is The Simpsons, for sure.
I think "Frasier" comes closest, but it's still a long way off.
