Best episode

My vote of the best episode is the one in which George does the opposite. Since all his instincts are wrong, doing the exact opposite produces astounding results.

Reasons why this is the best:

1. It's funny. It uses what we know about the character to advance the story line in surprising ways.

George: My name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents. Woman: Hi, George. I'm Veronica.

2. It addresses a deep problem humorously -- overcoming fear to execise the ability to change.

George at job interview: I was fired from my previous employment for having sex with the cleaning woman on my desk.

3. It's magical. Everything works for George -- as if a divine hand is rewarding him for having courage.

    George (to George Steinbrenner): I and every other citizen of
New York is sick and tired of watching you run this team into the
ground.
    Steinbrenner: Hire this man.

4. It has an unusually balanced, classical structure. The overall theme is: George's fortunes go up, Elaine's go down, because everything evens out for Jerry in the end.

Elaine: I'm becoming George!!!!

In short, it's both funny and inspirational. Most Seinfelds are just funny.

    Veronica: Who ARE you, George Costanza?
    George: I am the exact opposite of every man you have ever met.

The episodes where George is in the workplace or has to be interviewed. His reponses are classic and I always think about them when I'm interviewing. I also like "The Revenge" where George puts a "mickey" in his ex-boss' drink.

My favorite is the Marine Biologist

My personal favorite was the one with the bet. This is a rare episode due to the nature of the bet on masturbation, if you ever get a chance to watch it I would recomend it highly if you have seen it you know what I mean.

And: George- "A marine biologist? What'd you say that for? You know I've always wanted to pretend I was an architect"

The soup Nazi was WITHOUT a doubt one of the BEST EPISODES EVER!!!!!!

Well, I am not one to correct every spelling mistake, but the baseball player is Keith Hernandez. Played on the METS 86 Championship team which defeated the Red Sox.

I have to agree with Dennis. But it's 'Keith' Hernandez, not Rick. Anyway, I think it's a toss-up between that episode, the marine biologist one and the infamous "Contest" (Master Of Your Domain). George is excellent in the Keith Hernandez one, when he tries to dodge getting a job--he finally tells Mrs. Sokol, the unemployment lady, that he applied for a job as a latex salesman for Vanderlay Industries and gives her Jerry's phone number for the reference. When Kramer answers Jerry's phone and tells Mrs. Sokol that she has the wrong number, George runs out of the bathroom with his boxers and pants around his ankles, falls on his face, and Jerry comes in at that moment and says, "And you wanna be my latex salesman!"
