I've been interested to read the comments about the Betrayal. I thought it was great that the writers could show cause being more amusing than effect. Anyway, I've been mulling this episode over and it occurs that The Betrayal is not singular, but multiple. It wasn't simply Jerry who betrayed George by sleeping with Nina. Nina betrayed George similarly. George betrayed Nina with the boots. Elaine betrayed Jerry's and Nina's confidence. Kramer and Newman were prepared to betray each other (and Newman did so) over the birthday wish agreement. Elaine of course betrayed Sue-Ellen. This episode typified the deceit and selfishness that lies at the heart of the main characters.... and you HAVE to respect it!
