I just saw a bit of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry gets the B-O stinking virus and then Elaine catches and on it goes. But I'd like to know how Jerry gets it.

I thought it was pretty clear in the episode. A valet at a restaurant left a mutant, terrible smelling B-O stench in Jerry's car, and from the car it latched on to Jerry and Elaine and their clothes.
BTW, it is too bad Susan was with the Lesbian that episdode, because if Susan and George were still together, George could have gotten in the B-O car so he would smell bad, and then gone to hug Susan. It would have worked even better than the pick, and would have been pretty funny

Jerry got it from a valet parking attendant and subsequently went back and complained at the restaurant, locked the "manager, owner, whatever" in the car until he agreed to pay for half the "desmellifying?" bill.
