Just received my Seinfeld on CD set from SeinfeldonVHS

Extremely pleased. Well worth $100. Excellent quality delivered by US mail. I was hesistant at first but because I have seen his postings for many months without a complaint I took a shot. What sold me was the sample clip on the WEB. The quality is better then the COX cable signal of WB12 in Las Vegas. No commercials and fully intact. It takes years to see all the shows in syndication because as I said before they have to show "The Butter Shave" once a week. By the way a warning when the show gets to TBS do you think Turner will show the episode where George and those guys from Houston keep on using Bastard and Bitch. No way. I have seen what Turner deletes in his movies on TBS. He is a moral freak with family values. I would say the shows will be highly edited when it reaches TBS.

That's interesting...I don't live in the U.S. so I don't know anything about this Turner guy, but could it mean that you'll miss The Contest? Other episodes that come to mind: * The Virgin (especially the part about the diafram(sp?)) * The Cheever Letters * The Implant * The Gymnast

Not necessarily. Movies on TNT (including those made specifically for the channel) often have mature content, and TCM shows unedited movies complete with profanity, nudity, and violence.

And how do you know what is specifically deleted by TBS? If I recall correctly, recent movies edited for television aren't necessarily edited by the station--it's usually done by the studio, using the original actors.

I think you're making a lot of assumptions without any proof. It's certainly possible Seinfeld will be edited, but it's just as possible they'll add in footage already cut from the syndicated episodes for time.

I suggest you watch movies on TBS to see how their edited. TCM leaves them alone because it is considered a premium cable channel. TBS is basic. TBS edits words that I have heard said on network tv. Ted Turner's philosophy is wholesome Televison. Hell, he would edit Leave it to Beaver if something in it offended him. Watch "The Rainman" when it is shown on TBS. Any movie with mild profanity. The word Ass is bleeped all the time.

Hardly. I doubt it's a pay channel anywhere in the nation. As I understand it, TCM is generally thrown in for free in the extended lineup for most cable companies, along with TBS, TNT, and all the other cable channels.

Along with TNT (which you ignored), it still proves my point: Turner's channels don't necessarily edit everything. As I said before, you're making a lot of assumptions without any proof. If you're absolutely convinced you can see the future, then good for you. I'll suspend judgement until I actually see how TBS handles Seinfeld.
