I forgot, I have an analogy for you:

Most people would agree that a public park is an inappropriate place for a person to suddenly start preaching about their political views. Parks are where people go with their families and friends to hang out, relax, and have a good time.

If I am at a public park and someone suddenly starts preaching about their political views on an issue with which I have little familiarity, I will always remember that my introduction to the issue was provided by a rude moron who, although within their rights to do so, chose to shove their message in my face. Since said person is a rude moron, anything in which they believe "loses points" -- automatically, because if this cause attracts rude morons, it is most likely no cause with which I want to be affiliated.

I can speak for their lack of it based upon insistence that PETA/animal rights is relevant in this newsgroup. Besides, it was just an inflammatory comment and was meant to be one.
