Maybe she's afraid she's actually going to have to follow through on their deal to get married in 50 years if neither of them is married by then! I think she's getting bitter because she's getting older and she's still hanging around with these goofy guys. I also think her experience as the president of J. Peterman humbled her quite a bit. She got really cocky and arrogant about her position of authority, but deep down inside I think she knows she really screwed up, and then when Peterman came back she had to go back to being an ordinary employee again. Unfortunately she's not the carefree gal with big hair that she used to be. . .

I disagree. I think Elaine has become much funnier since the seventh season and seems to fit in more with the show. I could never understand why old Elaine hung out with losers like Jerry and George. Now I can tell. She adds laugh to every episode nowadays, instead of just occasionally.

Well, you're right for the most part, but I think you're wrong about it's because she's hanging around with "these goofy guys". I mean, she's destined to hang around with guys, remember, she's a "man's woman", she hates other women and they hate her. Well, maybe not literally, but for the most part, I think it's true. I think that it has to do with the fact that she considers herself the most eligible person in the group, and we have seen everyone else on the show get closer to marriage than her. I mean, George and Jerry were engaged. Kramer appeared to get Elaine's friend pregnant ("She's late, Jerry! She's la-te!"), or at least be as socially active as Elaine. The clock is ticking for Elaine... C'mon, she stabbed that guy in the forehead with a fork for saying she had a bump in her nose! She's almost over the edge. But it's not because she's hanging around with some goofs. -VR

I find it difficult to believe that Elaine would worry about being abandoned. The four of them are brothers and sister, in every aspect except blood, which is irrelevant. Her little brothers would never leave her behind, she knows that.
