Seinfeld Babies on Muppets Tonight

I was wondering if anyone else caught the Sunday night episode of Muppets
Tonight.  They did a skit called "Seinfeld Babies".  It was so cute.  The
muppet of Kramer was clumsy just like the real Cosmo and Jerry and George
were the same too.  Elaine was one of the characters, but her muppet
didn't say anything.

What's with all the times Vandale gets mentioned. Does anyone know where this is from?

Once in a while they need to use a fake name (especially George!). The first time they used it was in the second episode, when Jerry waits in the lobby to see a woman he met at a party. I suppose that rather than try to make up a new name every time the writers needed one, they decided to stick with one - which also creates a running gag.

Yeah I meant was the name an in-joke from someone they know or what? Where did it first come from?

Art is an importer/exporter or manufacturer of latex gloves... Depending on the episode.

He's also an author from the Village; a Beatnik, if you will. One of his better known works (although he is a rather obscure author) is "Venetian Blinds". This from the episode featuring Elaine's office Christmas party, where Elaine told George she could get him a job with Pendant. When Elaine introduced George to Mr. Lippmann (sp?), he was asked what authors he read, and responded with the "Art Vandalay/Venetian Blinds" line.

An interesting point! The Elaine character didn't say anything! Obviously, this was a sexist plot to keep woman powerless and subservient. What was the message of that Muppets sketch if not to say, "Woman should be seen and not heard!" This sort of mysogynst garbage must be stopped. Let's ban Muppets Tonight once and for all.
