The real Soup Nazi

Can anyone tell me who this character is based on? I understand that he does exist and lives in N.Y. and that he also has threatened to sue if the character appears again. What did this guy claim was the reason that he felt that the Soup Nazi character was based on him? Thanks.

The real soup nazi has his store near the real Kramer apartment in New York City. Well, the soup nazi and the real Kramer were fueding, so the real Kramer put up a big sign on wood that said "Don't eat at the Soup Nazi!" (Ala Kramer in show making sign protesting Kenny's Roasters) Well, the real S.N. got revenge by getting a can of red paint and painting over the sign. Noone saw him but there were drops of red paint leading to the S.N. store front.

That's not true. The real Kramer put up a whimsical "How to order soup" sign a few feet away from Al Yeganeh's shop (International Soup Kitchen). Al took offense to the sign and painted over it. You can still read it if you look carefully.

The real Kramer would never call the guy the "N-word". It's not something to be taken lightly. He calls him, more accurately and appropriately, the "soup rat bastard".

Kenny has brought a lot of business to Al's shop, but Al refuses to acknowledge in any way.

It is a real person who runs a soup shop called Soup Kitchen International, I believe. I had the soup there once, and it was amazing, but for 8 bucks it should be. The exact address is 259A West 55th ST. I believe that is by 8th Ave, or maybe 9th.

Anyway, the physical similarity is very close between the real guy and the fictional Soup Nazi. The rules for both are the same. Have your money out, place your order, and step to the left. He has been known to kick people off his soup line for caling him the Soup Nazi. In addition, the Real Kramer Reality Tour visits the Soup Shop, and there are signs for those waiting on line to read the rules. Don't go to the Soup shop during the summer or on the weekends, it is closed.

Last I heard, the real soup guy was suing a guy who runs a chain of Soup shops called "The Soup Man." Then, they reached an agreement to work together, with the real Soup NAzi as President of the chain.

Take the Bronx bound 1 or the 9 train uptown to 110th st, and walk north 2 blocks. It's on the NE corner. Eat on a saturday or sunday at the right time, you can also meet the real Kramer (Kenny Kramer) with his Kramer's Reality Tour. Vote Kramer for Mayor!

Hi Adam... Thanks for all the great info on the real Soup Nazi. Sounds like he is something else so no wonder the writers used him as a basis for their Soup Nazi role!
