Was it just me, or did that bumper for last night's (3/18) rerun throw anyone else, using 'serious, poignant music' for spotlighting the late Lloyd Bridges? Kind of violates the 'no very special episodes' rule, unless they did it ironically (I did like how the dialog line was "I'm gonna treat ya like a piece o'MEAT!". Put a tear in my eye, it did...)

That "very special Seinfeld" blurb just referred to the fact that we were seeing the show on an unusual night. The serious music is a sort of ironic comment on the fuss being made over the show's impending finale. They highlighted Lloyd Bridges, in all probability, because it was a funny moment with a striking, blunt line and that's the kind of scene that makes a good promo. (Not to men- tion the fact that his Izzy Mandelbaum character made a strong impression over the past year, people enjoyed him and we probably would have seen more of him in the final cycle of episodes, had Bridges lived longer.) The schedule of rerun episodes was set weeks ago, before Mr. Bridges passed away.
In case you didn't notice, they did a serious tribute to him (a picture with the caption "In memory of our friend Lloyd Bridges") at the end of last night's episode, the first new one aired since he passed away.
