Part of the 'magic' that would be required if Keith was the spitter, was that the spit would have to 'turn' a corner. Since McDowell was the spitter, the tragectory can be explained by a ricochet off of Kramer's head.
Jerry was in fact wrong, there was no 'second spitter' only a lone spitter from behind the bush.
