SIBLINGS of Jerry,Elaine,George,Kramer ???

I know there was reference to a sister of Elaine's and a brother of George's! any others???? Thanks

In case you don't want to go anywhere to check out the siblings. Here are the ones I know of: Jerry has a sister- She is mentioned in The Chinese Resturant George has a brother : he is mentioned twice in the history of the show. The Parking Space & The Suicide. Elain has a sister, Gail, that lives in St Louis. Elaine visits her in The Airport ( we see her returning home from the visit with Jerry at the beginning of the episode). She also seen talking to her on the phone concerning the problems her "nip" Christmas card has caused in The Secret Code. As far as I can account for Kramer has no siblings but does mention a couple of cousins and/or aunts in the course of the shows run.i

This isn't in the FAQ and it's a slightly strained construction but it could be said that Jerry makes plain the existence of his sister (or more accurately a sibling) *before* the Chinese Restaurant in Male Unbonding.

Jerry offers the fact of his having to tutor his nephew as an excuse for not going to a Knicks' game with Joel Horneck. Since of course Jerry has never been married this could only be the child of a sibling. And since Joel and he grew up together he could not plausibly invent one. Therefore we *know* at this point that Jerry has got either a brother or - as it turns out - a sister.

You presented a very good argument, Brian. If I can't refute it, I'll find a way to fit it into the FAQ.

So here goes.

I'm not sure that Jerry and Joel were such great childhood friends. Jerry says they lived 3 houses down from each other, and that they were only friends because Joel had a ping pong table. He underscored the "not such great friends" notion by saying he would have befriended Stalin if he had a ping pong table. It's possible that he was really only a 'fringe friend' from the start, but Joel considered him more because he had no other friends. Even after 7 years of never getting a phone call from him, Joel *still* considered Jerry his best friend. Now, I had my share of 'fringe friends' when I was young (one had a really cool Stingray bike and another had the Atari 2600!), and neither of those two 'childhood friends' knew of my two brothers.

And if either of them called me today, I'd probably make small talk, then blow them off. :)

Well this one could run and run. I would have to say that from *my* personal experience there's no way I could not have known of all the siblings of a friend (even not a particularly good one) who lived 3 doors away. But that may partly be due to the fact that where I lived most families had 4 children or more and so all the children would have been kind of inter-involved - my siblings would have known my friends and my friends' siblings. I suppose where smaller families were the norm that might not be so much the case.

Anyway I suppose since these are kind of official FAQ, the burden of proof ought to be pretty high so I will accept the point may not be proved beyond reasonable doubt. :-)
