Seinfeld sucks

First off, this is my opinion, you are all entitled to your own opinions, and i am just stating mine. I think seinfeld is the worst show on tv, it revolves around 4 characters who are in essence, jerks, they treat each other,as well as other people badly, and just go through life looking out only for themselves, the only one who's half way decent is Kramer. I realize this is supposed to be part of the appeal of Seinfeld, but i find it hard to watch a show about people i detest, and i will be glad when the show ends. If anyone has comments about this, please respond, i'd love to hear your ideas.

You certainly are entitiled to your opinion--even though you are in the minority. I must say, I didn't become an avid fan until the show went into syndication and I saw it nightly for about a month. The dark humor and the endearingly "nasty" characters grew on me like an enjoyable fungus( keeping the disease theme of last night's episode going). Now, I love 'em to death. Maybe you will change in time--or then, maybe not.

OK, don't watch. Scooby-Doo was probably the worst TV show ever right along with "Catch that Pigeon". Regis makes me retch, but I'd have to say that "Something So Right" has the most disgusting characters.

Nah...the worst show I've seen so far is "Walker: Texas Ranger"! The acting is terrible, the scripts cliche'd(sp), and the plots predictable. I respect Chuck Norris for his Martial Arts talents, but his show almost makes me feel ashamed to be a Texan! I think why Seinfeld appeals to so many people is that they literally see themselves or someone they know on the show. Admit it, most of us guys are a combination of Kramer & George, what with all the schemes they cook up, plus trying to get angles on everything from women to returning bottles in another state to get the deposit! :)

You got to be kidding! Just don't watch! Or cover your eyes at the selfish parts. As despicable as it is, all people are selfish to one degre or another (I know a few Georges myself) and I've been witness to many a rude and arrogant individual. This is probably more "real" and true to life than any of the sentimental slop or soap opera currently on air. That's probably why it has such an appeal. No one likes to admit that we are a world of self-serving, rude inhabitants....and I agre....watching shows like "Home Improvement" only make us depressed and neurotic over wanting our world to be as such. Take a lesson from the 50's, when everyone thought the real home life was like "Leave It To Beaver" and "Father Knows Best"! One day we all woke up and were rudely jolted into reality. Besides, Seinfeld was the first to admit....this show is about "nothing", which makes it even more fun! I don't know about you, but I watch TV for a bit of escapism and entertainment. If I want true blue reality, I'll shut the TV off.

Listen,such behaviors as theirs is considered amusing, because we laugh at how they're jerks and the way they treat others. If they were kind and considerate then it would not be as hilarious as it is, it would be more of a show like Party of five or something, which is not a sitcom. So, Rob, you should turn off Seinfeld and switch over to something like Leave it to Beaver, from a time when sitcoms had wholesome family goodness.

defective.  In other words as far as Seinfold is concerned, you just don't
get it.
   It's like a colorblind person saying " Rainbows suck."  See, there are
parts of the human experience that you are just not equipped to enjoy.  You
may still be a nice person.  But something wasn't installed and it's too
late to fix it.
   Don't feel bad.  I'm sure there are many things that you are good at
that others are not.  Changing a tire, solving quadratic equations, doing
the Times crossword puzzle, planting tulips.  But when the punchline is
delivered, you're always the one who says,

Having characters that are detestable is the whole appeal of Seinfeld. Over the years, we have been inundated with sitcoms that have sympathetic characters with all their good, wholesome qualities. They were too perfect. Seinfeld obviously thought the same and got the idea to make a sitcom with characters that have no redeeming qualities, whatsoever.

If you don't like the Seinfeld characters, maybe you should watch turgid crap like HOME IMPROVEMENT where they all kiss and hug each other and learn life's important lessons. Ugh! What family hugs and kisses each other. It's disgusting and there should be a law against it.
