I'm a new subscriber so this maybe a FAQ, but how do I use a GIF file as my wallpaper? I downloaded the seinfab4.gif from remus.rutgers.edu and put it in my windows directory, but the screensaver doesn't recognize it. So my next thought was try to load into Paintbrush and save it as a bitmap, but of course that didn't work.

You need to have the correct software to view the image. (Actually now I'm viewing the fab 4 on my SPARC's background -- pretty cool). For windows try and get a hold of lview16. It's a window's based program that will allow you to 1) view the image (many formats -- jpg, gif, and others) and 2) allow you to save it as a "*.bmp" file. That way you can convert it to a file that paintbrush can read and windows can use for a background. I picked up lview16 from alt.binaries.util, so you may have to go there and request it.

You might be able to get it by requesting it on alt.binaries.pictures or a.b.p.misc. I would break it up for you, but I don't have the utilities. It's a pretty good pic if you ask me...
