The ending was fitting for Seinfeld, why make it more melodramatic when it is not their style.
Seinfeld is not the Cosby Show, or Step by Step, or Family Matters. It's Seinfeld. Not warm-fuzzy-ha-ha, but I-didn't-expect-that-ha-ha. You people should get a grip. It was funny, it was surprising, and at least it was one people will remember. Sheesh. Maybe you should be watching Sesame Street or Barney and Friends or something. :p~

I agree completely. With all of TV coming up with ridiculus premises for getting rid of characters, can't you imagine the Seinfeld writers sitting is a story meeting and deciding to just kill her off! The episode will go down as a classic.
And that makes you two raving psychotics who enjoy death. In the future, you might want to watch the Evening News on a more regular basis. Afterall, there's guerrilla war in Chechyna, the possibility of the Bosnian peace accord breaking down and best of all: rampant suicidal terrorism in Israel. You'll get quite a kick out of that, I'm sure. Afterall, Susan was just a television character and in these cases the people dying are real.

WHY I DIDN'T LIKE THE ENDING...
It has nothing to do with thinking Seinfeld should be like Family Matters or Step by Step or Cosby, and no I shouldn't watch Barney...
The ending ruined the characters. If Jerry will do ANYTHING or George will do ANYTHING, then frankly, the show isn't funny. Not because I feel sorry for Susan or for whoever is dying or being victimized, it simply isn't funny because a central premise of comedy is to work within a conditional framework. The framework is the characters. Let's pretend that George really didn't give a rat's ass that Susan was dead. He would still fear the wrath of her parents since it was HE who suggested the cheap invitations. He is partly to blame for this. If anything, George has consistently been worried about HIS fate. What if they charged him with murder for poisoning Susan? What will her parents say? I think George simply acting free and clear like that is NOT how he should act based on 6 years of watching the character of George Costanza. Here's a sample episode using the formula it doesn't matter how characters act: Jerry does a show and it turns out to be a gay bar (not that there's anything wrong with that). e hasn't has sex in a LONG time for some reason, and he thinks "Well, I'll try it" (not, again, that there's anything wrong with that). Jerry is straight. That's just the way it is. (George's, on the other hand, did move that one time).
