I'm sorry...

Now I love Seinfeld as much as anyone else, but I have to say that watching last night was like watching the Chevy Chase show, it was embarassing for those involved. George used to be only a little annoying and a little funny in being annoying, but last night he was just agonizingly annoying. And isn't the idea of Jerry just losing girlfriend after girlfriend over something small getting a little old. Why don't these people move forward a little, just a little, that is all I ask. There was an article in the Globe and Mail(Canada) a few days ago suggesting that the show is on it's way out. If yesterday, and really this entire season, are any indications, I think that this could be true.

I have to say that I agree with you completely. On Thursday's show George was more than just agonizingly annoying, I actually started to develop a strong disliking for him. On more than 1 occasion he was about to score with his (very good looking) girlfriend but he screwed it up because he was obsessed with Jerry's girlfriend...it doesn't make sense. I also can't understand how a loser like George managed to end up with such a good looking girl in the first place.

Gotta say that the slope looks steep and slippery, and its pointing down. What happened to the reparte (witty and otherwise)? This was THE show for lovers of the language. It picked up where Woody dropped it and RAN. Nowdays its crude, simple, physical (leave the physical stuff to the expert - Michael Richards) and the linguistic/gramatic/whatever pearls are few and far between. I saw an interview of Seinfeld with BWalters (ughh, who didnt) and he seemed ON THE WAY OUT, emotionally, intellectually and maybe motivation-ally. Maybe something like this just has a limited life, and we just have to accept it. ==:-}

Hmmm...but this time Jerry actually has sex with the current one. Remember the Virgin, Dolores, Sedra (sp?), Elaine's Secretary, ?? Does that count as a twist in the plot ? :-)

I do have to agree with you...I have taken to watching the old episodes that I'd had the wisdom to tape. I find them infinitely funnier...
