It was "Kessler" not Caster. I dunno where the other posters come up with the name "Hoffman" for the 1st ep. Kramer, since Jerry definitely said Kessler.

The 2 August 1989 _Variety_ magazine had a review of the *pilot* for Seinfeld. It included a cast list and Michael Richards was listed as "Hoffman."
