the Toys episode

Did anybody else find the episode where Jerry keeps doping that girl to play with her toys a bit disturbing? Nothing seemed right about it - they barely used Jerry's apartment, and he wasn't acting like himself. Incidentally, they should have used this episode to convict them.

Well, I know what you mean about doping somebody being a tad "dark" for comedy - but I thought they made it work. Maybe the scheme gained some credibility when a fellow woman (Elaine) went along with it to get that guy some discontinued gum. And Jerry did get his comeuppance on the Merv Griffin show (what with that new, edgy formula).

What's embarrassing in court about giving muffins stumps to the homeless? this was hilarious but not because they were really doing something terrible in doing this.

Or the toilet book, for that matter? I thought they were satirizing these coffee shop/bookstores - taking it one more step. Not only can you read the book over coffee, you can take it into the bathroom. Amusing. Not fodder for court cases.

No, and neither were the stories about "The Contest" and how Jerry promised to wear "The Puffy Shirt" on the Today Show. There was already a lot in that episode that was clearly brought out to embarrass Jerry & Co, some of which would never be admissible in a real courtroom. These things would fit in, with the spectators exhibiting a mob mentality toward someone who would callously dump "muffin stumps" and "that toilet book" on the homeless, even if it was really nothing...

Well, not exactly. Jerry went to her medicine cabinet to get her some pills and he saw two bottles. One "may cause drowsiness", he selected that one. I didn't see anything wrong with it.
