When I attempted to borrow a musical score from my city's hugh central library I was told that its single copy it was unavailable because it had been stolen. The library did not plan to replace it because of its cost (about $100.)
When I asked the librarian if there was an effort made to track down the thief and recover the score, I was told no. Surprised at this, I then asked the librarian if she had seen the Seinfeld Bookman epoisode. Again, no.
The Bookman episode should be made mandatory viewing by librarians everywhere. Ariosa
