Well, he could have given her his number in case she changed her mind, which she did. But, true, how would she know it off the top of her head?

Characters dialing phones on TV has _always_ been like this. They seem to all know the phone numbers of everyone in the world. I remember a bit from an episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show (thank you Nick at Nite) where he made fun of this -- he picked up the phone and dialed a number to some business or something, one that the character would be exTREMEly unlikely to know by heart, and then, while waiting, whipped open the phone book (lying on the counter next to the phone) to some random page, ran his finger down the page and nodded like he'd just confirmed that he got the number right. It was hilarious in its subltety.

Not necessarily. She could have it stored in memory. But then again, we DID see her dial a number, rather than just page through a menu such as is on my phone. Hmmmmmmm.
