Um, what exactly do you want to hear? Are you asking what George said to illicit Jerry's response, or a Freudian analysis of the dream in question, or the socioeconomic impact of McDonald's on our collective subconcious, or what?

I think the reason *why* Jerry had that dream is between him and his psychologist. :-)

I think you missed the joke. I suspect The Maestro's trivia question was about George's line which preceeded Jerry's quote about his dream. But I jokingly asked if he wanted a Freudian analysis of the dream. Here, lemme diagram the humor for ya'...

But that's not the answer to my trivia. And also (to Derek) Jerry does try to be humorous by juxtaposing Goerge's comment. In fact, according to what I found, Jerry have no idea why he had this dream.

The answer I'm looking for is just an obscure relation between this dream and another line of this episode. And it could be an attempt from the writer to psychologically explain Jerry's dream in a funny way (I'm pretty sure it is). But this ain't funny anyway. It's too hard to notice to be funny.

However I'm sure it was funny to write it.

It is much simpler than everything you wrote.

I already gave you a hint by making a point of saying the writer was Darin Henry. He may be no Freud expert (it may be not psychoanalytically correct), but he gave a reason for this weird, out of context line, further in the script. There is no reference to previous episodes. Even someone who never watched Seinfeld before can find the answer just by reading the script.

Here is the last hint:

Finally, here is the answer:

JERRY: I had a dream last night that a hamburger was eating me!

That hamburger dream is a sexual dream. We learn later in this episode that Jerry's mother didn't like his previous girlfriend and used to refer to her as:

"That Amber girl that you were with."

Obviously, we can assume that it was not the first time that she refers to Amber with that phrase, and that she did that a number of times before Jerry had his dream. So Jerry's subconscious used this expression to transform Jerry's dream about a blow job in some sort of hamburger dream.

Jerry had a dream that an Amber girl was eating him.

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

Why is it about Amber? Why not Ellen, or even Elaine? What, are you drawing some correlation between "Amber girl" and "hamburger"? That's quite a stretch, and I can't believe it's anything other than a coincidence (and probably doesn't even qualify as that). If this was intentionally done by the writers, they would've made it so much more obvious, such as calling the woman in question something like "Amberger" (a somewhat common last name), or having Jerry respond with an aside about the dream, rather than about Vegas. I can't even believe it's an obscure joke surreptitiously inserted by one writer, given that you're probably the only person to ever draw a connection between "Amber girl" and "hamburger".

In fact, why do you assume Jerry's serious about actually having the dream? If anything, it sounds like a joke he made up on the spot.

And how does your farfetched dream analysis count as "Trivia for hardcore fans"? It's more like, "A Question for Telepaths", since providing your desired answer would require the ability to read your mind. :-)

I thought it was related to "AMBER" too. amber was in Las Vegas and there are many hamburger joints in Las Vegas - SOOOOOOOOO- that triggered the hamburger eating Jerry dream.

Ah HA! "Amber" is also the color of restaurant fryer grease, which is used to cook french fries, which are commonly eaten with hamburgers, and thus the hamburger dreams is related to Jerry's ex!

Bach was fond of puzzle canons, acrostics, numerology and so on. Many other creators are like that too.

I really don't think it's a coincidence. The writer could have used any name for this girl, but he chose Amber, he chose to put 'girl' right after, he made her come from Vegas (like she would be more depraved than Ellen), and he had Jerry having a dream about hamburger. No, It can't be a coincicende. And again it's not a joke, and I don't think the writer was excpecting that anyone would find about it.

Some creators are just like that. Eccentrics. It's not enough for them to just entertain, they have to add things like that in their creations.

Actually, it's not a real dream analysis since what I did is just find the play on words. The 'analysis' was made up as clues for you to find this play on words. I agree it is psychoanalytically debatable. I often have dreams like that, but I'm among the �people who likes searching for those things in the works of creators�, so it's just normal for me to have these kind of dreams.

Anyway, assuming it's not a coincidence, I think you do have to watch this episode many times to find it, and therefore it is a trivia for hardcore fans.
