In today's (Wednesday, Mar. 20) New York Times, there's an article on the front page of the Living Section (section C) regarding the appropriate food to eat while watching various TV shows. The title of the article is "Seinfeld is On. Pass the Junior Mints." Although the article discusses several shows, it devotes a disproportionate amount of space to "Seinfeld".
The article's recommended foods to eat while watching "Seinfeld" are: Marble rye bread, untoasted Cereal liberally soaked in milk (reduces crunching; dialog easier to hear) mutton ("salad's got nuttin' on mutton") Junior Mints Bottled water If you dare, wear a puffy shirt.
The author, Andrea Higbie, includes lists for dozens of other shows, although the level of detail about "Seinfeld" shows where her preference lies. Apparently, she watches so much TV that it's hard to believe that she has time hold down a job at the Times; maybe she's a freelance. At the very least, she should get out more.
The article makes for entertaining light reading. Oh, yeah, there's some news in the paper, too.
