No really, this isn't a troll.

There were 12 tribes of Israel, and only the descendants of the tribe of Judah can truly be considered Jewish. Likewise, dewcendants of Simon were called Simonites, Levi; Levites, etc.

So maybe it's a technicality, but there's only about an 8%
chance that Jerry is 'Jewish'.  We can, however, call him a
'Hebrew-American' without fear of reprisal.
