Fans discuss the origins of Jerry and Newman's antagonistic relationship, debating whether Jerry or Newman initiated the conflict and citing specific episodes where each wronged the other.
One of the re-runs the other night included the story where Jerry trys to ruin a trade of items between Newman and Kramer, by warning Kramer that Newman's item is no good.
This seems to me to be one of the few times that Jerry has screwed Newman, compared to Newman and the fleas in Jerry's apt., etc., that make Jerry antagonistic toward Newman.
Any further references/thoughts as to why Newman dislikes Jerry, beyond his general neatness???
I liked that episode and I think that Kramer and Newman are very funny together as a team. I especially loved them going to court to fight the speeding ticket.
Remember, there was also an episode about three weeks ago where Newman was supposed to mail a letter to Jerry's accountant, and did not do it because he was touching a woman's sleeve and got chased by her boyfriend, and then the accountant filed Ch.11? In another episode, Jerry was necking w/his cute girlfriend Rachel during " Schindler's List " and Newman repoirted it to his parents? " HE WAS MOVING ON HER LIKE THE STORMTROOPERS INTO POLAND!!"

Kramer and Newman's explanation of thier run in with Keith Hernandez is also is by far some of the best dialog ever done for the show. I'm not sure if you have ever seen it however I never miss it.

Actually Kramer screwed Newman because the K man knew that the radar detector was defective.
