"Don't like it, don't watch it"

This season, whether you like it more or less than past seasons of
Seinfeld, is undeniably a very different show and for that reason
criticism is inevitable.  Some fans here who love the show
unconditionally respond to any critcism with, "If you don't like it,
don't watch it."  That's no solution.
   The critics here are saying what they're saying because they LOVE the
show, and are worried because the show they know and love is turning into
something unfamiliar that they can no longer enjoy.  They are just as
attached to the show as everyone else, and they'd rather not stop
watching.  They just want Seinfeld to return to its former level of
comedy, so they can continue to enjoy it.
   Seinfeld is tough habit to break, and they (okay, I'll admit it, I'm
of them, although I haven't been as harsh as some) want to stick with it
and hope it gets better again (and things are looking up--"The Yada Yada"
was truly classic, but that might be because Peter Mehlman is one of the
old, classic writers rather than a new one).  However, it's hard to stick
with it when we're let down with complete losers like "The Pothole."
This is where we voice our concerns.

There are bad shows every season, not just this one. Bad, meaning relatively bad. What the rest of us get sick of is people pissing and moaning about a show being "below standards," but then blaming the whole season. It's enough for us to listen to "this season sux compared to...yadda yadda yadda." Try to critcize the episode itself instead of comparing to other seasons, which doesn't accomplish anything because you are then only preaching to those who already agree with you. I feel this season is one of the best, if not the best. People who are going to agree with you already do.

Here in Holland, we're still watching the old shows. I haven't seen the newer ones. My god, Seinfeld is going to be mainstream??

Right we will get no more Soup Nazis, Contests, Bubble Boys etc. The magic is gone - regular slap stick - cheap references to past glories.
