Now when ever I see the re-runs in syndication, I won't be able to
enjoy them in the same manner. I know that sounds a little nit-picky but
I won't view them as "normal" people I'll just keep envisioning the last
episode and I'll think of them as criminals.
To try to mend the situation I'll just think of last night's as a
"what if" episode and think of the Puerto Rico festival episode as the
final. That should help.-Paul Canniff
the puerto rican episode sucked too... as did the whole season. face it, they ended it a couple years too late

Exactly, the show went on too long. According to some interviews or possibly rumors, one of the reasons Jerry Seinfeld ended the show was due to the the advice of a numerologist. He had learned that in numerology "9" stands for completion. If he had ended the show in the seventh season "7", he might have had better luck.

Yes for the first part, and no for the second. Because the season was "sub-par" (but still better than most sit-coms) it allowed fans to accept the end, yet not rue the fact that it limped along (ala Married...with Children, Murphy Brown, Rosanne, Family Matters, etc, etc, etc) until we couldn't bear to watch the downfall of one of the greatest shows of all time.

But they're "criminals" exactly BECAUSE of what they've done for the last nine years! They "didn't do anything" for the fat guy, and haven't done anything for anyone over the entire series -- that was the point. They were arrested for being themselves.
