To all of you Kramer fans:
Walking down Broadway late this summer, I passed by the Ed Sullivan theater and I saw people waiting around the corner near a couple of limousines. I went to see what was happening. Someone told me that Michael Richards was appearing on the Letterman show and that he would come out of that exit soon. After 20 minutes out came Michael in an all off-white Donna Karan suit (with the label still on it). His white shirt was out of his pants, and his face was caked with make-up. He was kind enough to sign autographsfor everyone (we were all behind police barricades). As he was approaching me, I asked him if he wanted to go to Mendy's. He said that he was never there. I offered to treat him to dinner, but he thankfully declined, and gave me an autograph. He was at Letterman to promote his summer movie "Trial & Error." He asked the crowd if we wanted to know why he looked like such a schloch. He said that he was offered the D.K. suit if he would wear it on the show, so he didn't remove the labels so he could show Letterman that he was wearing it. On the show, he also kind of gets undressed (his shirt only). The funniest thing that I noticed about him was that his hair is the same as it is on the show!
