Kramer missing

Many people mentioned that Kramer was missing from "The Chinese Restaurant" episode, but no one went as far to mention why he was missing. Does anyone know why they would leave out one of the most hilarious characters on television? (BTW, the episode was great without Kramer, but can anyone imagine what it could have been like with him?)

In regards to _why_ they left out Kramer, I would suspect that it was because a) Kramer was a minor character; b) back then, Kramer rarely (but not never) left the apartment building; and c) Jerry and Kramer were not yet such good friends that they'd do anything together. Of course, he could have just been on vacation. (The actor, not the character.)

Just the way I tend to look at things.... :-)

....... because kramer was still just a side charater. I don't think the creators thought he'd be so popular.
