The Original Seinfeld Pilot

Hi, Has anybody out there seen the original Seinfeld Pilot, if so could you tell me if there were any diffrences (I heard there were)

I've seen this episode recently in syndication, but they must have reshot the scenes with Jerry's father if your account of this version of the episode is correct. I remember the one I saw had both of Jerry's "current" parents commenting on Jerry's attempt to stake out the office building to meet the lady. I think Jerry's mom said it was wrong while his dad said it was okay. But it was definitely the current dad...

-Coincidentally, I just happened to come across a tape I never knew I had -of what I believe is the Seinfeld pilot (apparently I taped it when they -re-ran- it back in '92, I think). Anyway, I watched the show and noted -some interesting things: - --most of the characters were basically the same, although... --Kramer's role in the show seemed very limited --a different actor played Morty Seinfeld (he was not one bit funny- his -lines were completely stale and he had no personality whatsoever...he was -like a non-character) --George made a reference to Art Vandalay (he and Jerry "staked out" the -building where a woman he had encountered at a cocktail party worked--he -never found out her name, only where she worked--and while they were -waiting for her to show up, they came up with an excuse to use in case she -asked them what they were doing in the building. The excuse: they were -meeting a friend of theirs named Art Vandalay who worked in the building. -His occupation: "importing," suggested George, but Jerry argued "just -importing, no exporting??" and they finally agreed on "importer/exporter" -(this bit was also used the recent Marisa Tomei episode) - -Hope this helps

Actually the episode you just described is 2nd episode ever. The actual pilot consisted of half monolouge and half sitcom. Insted of the standup at the beggining and end, they threw it in between lots of scene changes. The actual plot wasn't that great. It was about a woman staying from out of town with Jerry. George teaches him how to read the "signals" The characters were very undeveloped. Kramer acted much more crazy than he does now, and George acted different and was actually not to fat. Elaine was not in the show.
