seinfeld on vcd 64 disks

Hi,

was wondering if any1 has bought a set of vcd's off "Seinfeldonvcd"?

Please let me know if he is "jipping" any one or if he is "Fairdinkum". And what's the quality like?

i took advantage of the offer. every single episode was there AND in its entirety. quite nice!! the sound was at least a 13 on a 1-10 scale. awesome!! the video was not as good. if you take a 1-10 scale....... tape an episode right off the TV onto VHS and call it a 10. these vcds are probably an 8. DEFINATELY WATCHABLE and after a few episodes i really didn't notice it wasn't "10" quality. definately worth the price!!! highly recommend this set!!! ESPECIALLY because we have absolutely NO confirmation that we'll see EVERY episode released on DVD

I bought the demo CD and was thoroughly impressed. Now we are NOT talking DVD quality. But to have these to watch on your PC they work just fine. I can't wait for my next business trip, I will be watching them on the plane!! I don't watch stuff full screen on my PC, I prefer a small window and the quality is just fine for that small window. The demo disk included 3 full episodes, no commercials!! I loved it so much, I ordered them... I am about to watch many episodes I have never seen before... I am very pleased and I should have them hopefully by this weekend.

Seinfeldonvcd claims that his versions are complete, and that's not entirely true. I ordered the test disc and even though the Parking Space and the Puerto Rican Day were complete, the Pilot episode (Good news, Bad news) was clearly not complete. I also have that episode on tape and my version was 2 minutes longer. Seinfeldonvcd's version missed a short scene in the laundry, and a standup bit. I also noticed that the opening titles just say Seinfeld, but as far as I know the name was "The Seinfeld Chronicles" at that time. I also noticed that that episode on vcd started with the announcement "revised master" or something like that, which sounds as if scenes had been cut out.

I have no idea what you are talking about. as far as I know there is nothing else to the episode. I have saw it in syndication and it only has less. as for the other two scenes they are both in there as well.

this is a screen capture of the very same episode. it could be that you glanced over them to quickly. maybe you could watch that again

Your version also has opening titles saying Seinfeld with the same kind of letter type that was used for the first season. My episode has a different letter type and the opening titles say "The Seinfeld Chronicles" instead of SEINFELD. And your version also had the Seinfeld opening tune, and mine had another tune, probably because the Seinfeld tune wasn't "invented" yet.Also the pilot was aired 7 may 1989 and your revised master is from 22 june 1990. So I guess the original pilot was revised and then incorporated in the 1st season.

WOW I did not know that, did you know that ED.

even the "uncut" set is cut. bummer. hopefully that is the only one but now I will go back through them to see which ones say revised and wonder exactly what I don't even have.

I guess that is part of the joy of collecting things, finding raritys.

I taped it off Dutch television. They broadcasted it twice, so I have two copies. So if anyone is interested in my spare copy? It's SP and stereo, but (maybe a slight drawback) it's PAL only and it is subtitled in Dutch. As an added bonus it also has the complete Stake-Out and The Robbery. Thank goodness the concept of syndication is unknown in my country.

It would be interesting to interview someone involved with the Seinfeld production who did the editing to find out the reasons for the various versions. I would still love to see the one where another actor played George's father in the one about the big screen TV pick-up for charity.
