time to get rid of senior Costanzas

The Pinter episode showed how good a show Seinfeld can be when they don't put George's parents in the script. All the shouting and screaming from George's parents and his moher's grating accent are not the least bid funny. Hey, we get it already. George has a dificult relationshiip with his parents. They have got to go.

I don't agree. The senior Costanzas, Kramer and Newman make the show. I think some of the best lines from the show have involved these characters.

Ditto. I love the ranting and raving of Frank. And George's mother is a riot when she starts getting hysterical. I love that scene from "The Contest" where she's in the hospital bed, begging George to go get her something to eat. (I loved the parallel they did to that during the episode where the NYU girl thinks that George and Jerry are gay, except that the adjacent patient getting the sponge bath this time is a guy, with a male nurse.)

Good point, but the past three seasons have been horrible in terms of Seinfeld and Costanza parents.(except for when George met Susans parents) They were good in past episodes, but not lately WE had to sit through episodes like The Cadillac. Serenity Now wasn't bad, but the entire Serenity Now part with Gerorge's parents ruined the episode. Luckily good subplots made the episode watchable. Their parts in the show are no longer creative, they are very obvious, and boring. Erase The Serenity Now, The Blood, and The Van from this season, and it is one of the best seinfeld seasons yet. Can't agree with you. Not one bit. Some of the funniest moments in the history of the show have involved the Costanzas. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Frank and Estelle in the coming weeks.

I think one of the biggest problems with the show lately is the lack of George & Jerry's parents. At times they're the best part of the show. The writing is (or was) superb and the back and forth banter of both sets of parents is beautifully choriographed. Sometimes I think they must be adlibing to get it to flow so well. Since we rarely see them anymore, I figured Larry David must have been the writing behind them.

They are going, but will probably have their own spinoff show after Seinfeld, so it has been rumored. I hope it is true; I think that the Costanzas, Seinfelds, Jack Klompas, and Uncle Leo could have a big hit show in the line of "The Golden Girls".

What I'd really love to see is a J. Peterman spinoff show. That guy rocks!

I couldn't disagree with you more Marc. The Constanzas are great. Put them in every episode. I love Jerry's parents too. You must not be a real fan if you don't think these people are funny. For heavens sake, watch the reruns if you get them in your area. You can't say these people aren't funny. Come on.

I love George's parents because I know a couple who acts a lot like them. How can you not find them funny?
